Kate Asbeck served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Cleveland Foundation from April 2010 until her retirement in June 2016. In that role, Kate was responsible for the Foundation’s $2 billion endowment and its finance, information technology and human resources teams.
Kate was previously Senior Vice President, Finance at Corning Incorporated in Corning, NY. In that role, she led a 600-person global finance organization—including control, treasury, tax and shared services—and served as its principal accounting officer. During her 18-year tenure with Corning, she gained expertise in all areas of finance and significant experience in acquisitions, divestitures, joint venture formation, financing and capital markets. She also served on the board of several of Corning’s joint venture companies ranging in sales from $100M to $2 billion.
Prior to Corning, Kate was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Cincinnati for ten years, progressing to senior manager. She started her career as a staff auditor with Champion International in Hamilton, Ohio, after graduating cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University.
Kate is on the Board of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio and is a Trustee of University Hospitals. She is also a member of In Counsel with Women and the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2012.
