Phelan processes bills and invoices, ensuring accounts payable and receivable run smoothly. He also contributes his skills in Spanish where needed across the organization.
In his previous position at Sherwin Williams, Phelan handled accounts payable for the company’s Latin America division–communicating daily in Spanish between teams in Mexico and suppliers in the US to resolve problems with bills. At the end of his internship, Phelan gave training sessions in Spanish to coworkers in Mexico who took over his financial processes. Phelan has also worked as a Success Coach for Cleveland State University, helping other students with time management, study and test-taking skills and reading comprehension. Before that, Phelan worked as a Cleveland Foundation Intern, placed at Ingenuity Cleveland, where he first became passionate about Cleveland’s economic ecosystem.
Phelan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. He graduated cum laude from Cleveland State University. In addition, Phelan studied abroad in Spain and Nicaragua.
