We are excited to welcome the fifth cohort to our Core City: Cleveland Impact Program! This 12-week business assistance program is designed to drive economic impact in the city of Cleveland by helping individuals overcome obstacles to entrepreneurship through hands-on advising and industry-specific mentoring.
Over the next three months, these five individuals will be learning and working together alongside JumpStart’s Core City: Cleveland team—culminating in a demo day-style competition where program participants will use their new knowledge and skills to pitch to a panel of judges for a chance to take home up to $10,000 to grow their business.
Meet the spring 2018 Core City: Cleveland Impact Program cohort:

Every purchase made supports Yellowcake’s larger mission to alleviate social issues and environmental challenges here and abroad.
Revival Body Care
Revival Body Care was launched in Spring of 2015, from Nicole Dzurko’s home kitchen. The line of ALL NATURAL Skin, Lip and Hair Care created using only finest quality Organic, Fair Trade, 100% Vegan Ingredients. Revival Body Care is committed to using ingredients that are sustainable, ethically sourced, fair-trade, cruelty-free and organic, to ensure healthy, nourished skin, lips and hair without the use of chemicals, toxins, artificial colors, fragrances or fillers.
Cathy’s: Gourmet Ice Cream Sandwiches
Cathy Green came up with the idea for her business while studying for the bar exam. Located in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, the gourmet ice cream sandwich shop combines made-from-scratch cookies based on a family recipe with all natural ice cream provided by Just Glaze Ice Cream Co. The business also helps support CathyCares, a local non-profit that partners with high schools to offer monthly programming to teach female students how to be strong girl bosses.
Communion Social Lounge
Michael and Sharece Curry
Communion Social Lounge was birthed from a passion to develop quality wine with an unforgettable taste at affordable prices. The business has grown steadily, and recently expanded to a new location in Slavic Village after it was selected as one of six winners of Cleveland Chain Reaction, a business competition designed to give the neighborhood an economic boost.
Inspired by the kitchen skills (and work ethic) of two Grandmothers named Pearline Scott & Delores Flowers, PearlFlower Catering focuses on personalized menus using locally sourced ingredients and was recently selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers—alongside two other local minority-owned food businesses—to bring three signature dishes to Quicken Loans Arena’s “Test Kitchen’ for fans to enjoy.
Stay tuned for more information about our Core City: Cleveland Impact Program entrepreneurs and their businesses. And, be sure save the date to attend their demo day showcase on May 9.
