This course will develop the framework for delivering an engaging pitch (5 minutes or less) for your enterprise to deliver to potential co-founders, investors, and others. We will work through succinctly articulating a problem, your unique solution, and how to help others see the urgency and respond to a call to action. Since communication is primarily nonverbal, we’ll then focus on how to deliver this pitch in a way that captivates an audience and has them wanting to be a part of what you are doing.
Key Takeaways:
Develop framework for a strong funder-ready pitch
Strategies for delivering in an effective, engaging way
Clearly defined problem and unique value proposition for your solution

About the Presenter, Ben Colas:
I develop the next generation of leaders in Cleveland.
In 2016, I pitched KinderKits- kindergarten readiness kits for families to have a clear understanding of what their child needs to know entering kindergarten and how to teach those skills at home using simple, everyday items- and won seed funding to launch the idea. Since then, KinderKits has grown and empowered over 5,900 Ohio families. KinderKits won Cleveland Leadership Center’s Accelerate event, JumpStart’s StartUp Scaleup pitch competition, and SEA Change Northeast Ohio’s Social Enterprise Accelerator and has been profiled in Crain’s Cleveland’s Twenty in Their 20’s, Cleveland’s 25 under 35, and nationally in Teach for America’s One Day magazine.
My kindergarten class doubled their projected NWEA growth each of the past 2 years. I was the first teacher hired by the district to work in the talent department while teaching and also serve as a Real Time Teacher Coach to support other educators in my building.
