The Hudson Library & Historical Society will host a live virtual streaming event with Jaime Schmidt, the founder of award-winning and bestselling Schmidt’s Naturals plant and mineral-based products sold in major global retail establishments. Schmidt will discuss her book, Supermaker: Crafting Business on Your Own Terms, which outlines how to start or grow your own business and provides insights into the lessons she has learned in marketing, sales growth, product development, customer engagement, scaling operations and partnerships. Barbara Corcoran, founder of The Corcoran Group and Shark on Shark Tank calls Supermaker “the secret sauce for launching and executing a successful business plan. It’s a must-read for emerging entrepreneurs!”
Schmidt is the founder and former CEO of Schmidt’s Naturals, which sells plant and mineral-based products including natural deodorant, soap and toothpaste. In 2010, Schmidt began selling her products in farmer’s markets, and grew her brand to over 30 countries and onto the shelves of Target, Costco, CVS, Walmart and Whole Foods. The brand was acquired by Unilever in 2017. An icon in the maker movement, Schmidt is now the co-founder of Supermaker, a media platform that supports inclusive independent brands, provides voices to small up and coming companies and hosts conversations about workplace issues.
Copies of Supermaker will be available for purchase courtesy of The Learned Owl Book Shop. Registration for this program is required and a valid email address is required at time of registration.
