Business, non-profit and government leaders say they know in their souls that the only way for Greater Cleveland to prosper is with an inclusive economy, one that offers opportunities for all and provides measurable lift for populations always left behind. No one, though, seems to have a clear vision on how to build that economy. In this episode of Cleveland Connects, we explore one challenge facing the upcoming “Cleveland Rising” Appreciative Inquiry summit: What does economic inclusivity look like?
We’ll discuss building a regional economic strategy that truly incorporates and lifts minority entrepreneurs and communities, who for decades have been scarred by poverty and largely left behind. What are the radical ideas that could make Cleveland the city that grows its economy while narrowing the disparities between rich and poor? What policies might bring more people to the table and create a rising tide that really does lift all boats? And what might our region and its economy look like if we did that?
