The Tidy Stitch Wins $2,500 Top Prize in JumpStart’s Northwest Ohio Pitch Competition

Ten Northwest Ohio entrepreneurs presented their business ideas via Zoom on March 30 at our semi-annual Northwest County Pitch Competition.

At the end of the evening, the judges selected Britney McSweeney and her company, The Tidy Stitch, as the winner of the $2,500 cash prize.

Britney has been doing hand embroidery for more than a decade. But the one thing Britney didn’t love about embroidery was dealing with the pile of bobbins after a project. She recognized that there had to be a better way, and so The Tidy Stitch began.

The initial launch of her family embroidery organization system was in September of 2020 on an Etsy shop, Britney Kay Embroidery. Since then, she’s created an individual system and a series of custom systems in multiple languages. Her aim is to minimize the pain points around the hobby and let hobbyists and professionals alike focus on the parts they enjoy, the stitching itself.
