John Opdycke is a visionary high-tech marketing leader who builds consensus while driving alignment with company goals. John leads by example and enjoys managing people with the innate ability to coach, strengthen and grow a team to its highest potential. He has demonstrated success driving significant revenue growth through targeted marketing strategies and programs, and is skilled at taking a practical and realistic approach to decision-making that impacts an entire organization.
John currently serves as the VP of Marketing for Boundless Spatial, Inc., the leader in open GIS (geographic information systems). Boundless offers a complete open GIS solution through a unique combination of technology, products and experts, to give enterprises deeper intelligence and insights into their location-based data. The Boundless platform is built upon open source technology and open APIs that generate actionable location intelligence across third-party apps, content services and plugins for enterprise applications.
Prior to Boundless Spatial Inc., John served as Chief Marketing Office for Vox Mobile, the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise mobility management system, addressing every aspect of mobile technology planning, management and support.
Before joining Vox Mobile, John served as a marketing executive for a variety of tech companies in the Cleveland area. Most notably, he was Marketing Senior Director for Oracle, where he was responsible for awareness, demand and lead generation programs specifically intended to increase new sales pipeline growth for Oracle’s CX Service Cloud business unit.
In addition, John served as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for TOA Technologies (now a part of Oracle), a provider of cloud-based field service management applications. In this role, he drove the strategic delivery and led all facets of the company’s marketing programs/initiatives. Prior to that, John was the Vice President of Marketing for Hyland Software, where he was instrumental in overseeing all marketing functions for selling into six different industry verticals.
John holds a BS in Public Relations from Syracuse University.
