Jerry leads JumpStart’s internal and collaborator-driven operations that provide capital and services to entrepreneurs while working to ensure these activities generate the greatest inclusive economic impact.

Jerry’s team provides services to help entrepreneurs access the capital, sales, talent, mentors and other resources necessary to accelerate growth. They conduct due diligence, deploy capital and manage JumpStart’s investment portfolio. In addition to working with promising tech startups, the team also helps scaleups (more established high-potential small businesses) maximize their growth. As the lead for the Ohio Third Frontier Entrepreneurial Signature Program, this team also coordinates the efforts of the NEO ESP Network, a collaborative group of 15 entrepreneurial support organizations (including JumpStart) from all across Northeast Ohio.

Jerry joined JumpStart in 2004 as a member of the original team of Entrepreneurs-in-Residence. His entrepreneurial experience includes working as Vice President of Marketing for the team that launched the venture-backed Classic Sports Network (now ESPN Classic). He has also launched a variety of new products/initiatives in partnership with Nickelodeon, BET Jazz Productions, Five Star Technologies, Minardi Beauty Products and the American Wine School.

Jerry’s career began at New York City advertising agency J. Walter Thompson, where he worked in account management, followed by five years in brand management with Bristol-Myers Squibb. He then served as Marketing Director for Radio City Music Hall Productions, where he helped lead Radio City to record revenue and attendance levels. Jerry then returned to his hometown of Cleveland to rejoin Bristol-Myers Squibb as a marketing executive with Matrix Essentials (later acquired by L’Oreal), where he managed a $200 million hair care division and created the new product development and promotional marketing departments.

Jerry holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BA in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan.
