Heidi started her career doing what she loved to do as a child—designing costumes for toy horses. Hired by a startup toy company, she traveled to remote parts of China to facilitate production and worked with inventors and graphic designers to turn their ideas into manufactured products. The success of these first products spread, and Heidi was soon recruited to work at Fisher-Price Toys. While at Fisher-Price, she brought expertise in turnkey product development to the corporate environment, shortening the speed to market of two branded $20M programs—Precious Places™ and Puffalumps™—by a year.
Since then, her career has included running the product development side of a forty-five person toy inventing business, serving as Vice President of a boutique advertising firm and coming to Northeast Ohio to run the corporate design department for Darice, Inc. At Darice, she built a ten-person department within a year, pioneering new processes and innovative products to drive increased sales revenues. Currently, Heidi is Product Manager at Darko, Inc., maker of retail point-of-purchase displays for in-store marketing.
Heidi has a passion for working with organizations to solve the day-to-day challenges of bringing new products to market. She questions the who, what, how and why to inspire collaborative relationships encouraging colleagues to be happier and work smarter together. She is an innovative thinker who continually researches, connects and focuses efforts of the global team to develop new and better products and processes. She is a mentor to her staff, giving people opportunities to grow and flourish.
