Eric W. Schwarz is Senior Director for BNY Mellon Wealth Management and its Private Business Owner Advisory Practice. In this role, Eric coordinates the many services available to help his clients manage the complexities of wealth. These services include business consulting, financial planning, investment management, wealth and estate planning and private banking.
Eric has a 25+ year career in the finance and wealth planning field. As a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Exit Planning Advisor, Eric is an expert in guiding successful entrepreneurs and wealthy families through strategic and financial exits of their privately held companies. With significant experience regarding sale events, mergers and acquisitions and exit strategy, Eric is one of few wealth managers that truly specializes in taking business owners through the “owner to investor” process. This is accomplished by advising the business owner on how to maximize the value of the business presale, ensure the owner is personally and financially prepared and make certain the owner is properly equipped for life after the sale.
Previously, Eric served as Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor at Fifth Third Private Bank, where he was a strategic advisor to business owners with enterprise value ranging from $10M to $75M.
Eric holds a Bachelor degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In addition, he is an Executive Board member of Lorain County Health and Dentistry, Miami University Rugby Alumni Association, The Lorain County Urban League and the Exit Planning Institute.
