Bob Aber

Founder & Principal Consultant, Aber Advisors

Bob Aber is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Aber Advisors, a boutique management consulting firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Aber Advisors focuses on late-stage startups and growth-oriented businesses that generate between $1MM and $15MM in revenue. His clients are founder-led organizations that have limited executive teams, a growing business and operational issues that are hindering their true growth potential.

Bob presently serves as a fractional Chief Operating Officer for Joseph M. Stern Company,  the leading importer of raffia grass and raffia-related products that are available in the United States. As fractional COO, he works with company ownership on strategies to profitably grow the business, to expand relationships within current market segments and to identify new opportunities to leverage their current capabilities and industry expertise.

Prior to founding Aber Advisors, Bob held numerous leadership positions with startup, quasi-governmental, and not-for-profit organizations. Experienced as a utility executive, Bob’s passion is improving operational and sales strategies to sustainably scale businesses and organizations. This includes the cultivation of strategic partners, development of strategies around people and designing systems to support unexpected and/or future planned growth. Bob is fortunate to have built a vast and diverse network and actively leverages this network when needed to build successful teams and mutually-beneficial collaborations.

Additionally, Bob has an extensive history in assisting not-for-profits through engaged committee work and board participation. Some of the organizations that Bob has supported, include The City Club of Cleveland, the Cleveland Leadership Center, The German Marshall Fund of the United States and COSE.

Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University. Additionally, Bob has participated in the Cleveland Bridge Builders leadership development program and was named a German Marshall Fund Fellow in 2010.
