A New Talent Pipeline
Building off our experience of helping emerging companies find talent, JumpStart has launched the Emerging Talent Network to help aspiring 11th grade students and emerging 12th grade students connect with companies in search of qualified talent.
The Emerging Talent Network works with companies across Greater Cleveland to connect them with Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) students in specific work study tracks who are searching for summer internships and full-time employment opportunities.
In addition to covering the cost of intern salaries, JumpStart also works with CMSD to ensure students have appropriate attire, transportation options, work permits and bank accounts to receive their paycheck. Participating companies also receive free cultural competency and diversity/inclusion training.
The Emerging Talent Network is made possible by the KeyBank Business Boost & Build program, powered by JumpStart.
The Benefits Of JumpStart’s Emerging Talent Network
Access to pre-qualified young talent: CMSD works closely with JumpStart to ensure all student applicants are qualified and properly trained, reducing vetting concerns for companies.
No additional cost for interns: JumpStart provides participating companies with funds to fully cover the salaries of their summer interns.
Help establishing an internship program structure: JumpStart will work with each partner company to establish a new internship program if they don’t currently have one.
About The Students
Student participants come from three of CMSD’s Portfolio High Schools and the five Academies of Cleveland. These eight institutions focus on preparing and training students in a wide variety of career fields, including:
