Fund For Our Economic Future Makes Grants Aimed At Improving Job Creation In The Region

The Fund for Our Economic Future announced it has approved three grants totaling up to $850,000 that are aimed at advancing job creation in Northeast Ohio.

Business attraction and retention group Team NEO received a one-year operating grant of up to $650,000 “to support the continued advancement of a shared, regional economic competitiveness strategy and improved business development,” The Fund said in a news release.

Nonprofit economic development organization JumpStart Inc. of Cleveland received a one-year grant of up to $150,000 to support the Northeast Ohio Entrepreneurial Signature Program Network.

Fund members also approved a one-year grant of up to $50,000 to Burten, Bell, Carr Development Inc. to help the nonprofit neighborhood development organization “work on job creation in the neighborhoods surrounding the Opportunity Corridor,” according to the release.

For more than a year, the Fund said, it has been working closely with Burten Bell and other community development organizations, as well as the city of Cleveland, the Greater Cleveland Partnership and others, “to design and advance 21st century job hubs that bring direct benefit to surrounding neighborhoods and residents.”
