Banyan Technology Names New CEO

Banyan Technology, a freight management software company in Elyria, has named as its CEO a former top executive of promotional products firm Proforma.

Banyan announced it has hired Brian Smith as CEO. Lance Healy, co-founder and chief innovation officer at Banyan, said in a news release that Smith brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience to Banyan.

“This is an exciting time to have an experienced leader like Brian take over management of the company,” Healy said in a statement. “The need for live, instant connectivity in the logistics industry has grown exponentially since I started the company in 2001, and so have we, with 27,000 unique users.”

Mike Kennedy, chairman of Banyan’s board of directors, said Smith brings to the job a “track record of translating vision and strategy into world-class execution.”
