Mezu Supports Coronavirus Prevention Efforts Across The U.S.

Cleveland’s own Mezu is a growing software startup known for their popular payment app, which enables people to use their money with efficiency, ease and total privacy.  Now, the JumpStart portfolio company is also spearheading a national donation campaign to support the CDC during the COVID-19 crisis.

Mezu will be foregoing any fees and allowing users to donate funds directly to the CDC Foundation using their app. The company will also match Mezu users’ donations dollar for dollar at any amount donated.

“We believe it is our duty to help the community at large in any way we can during this critical time for humanity,” said Mezu CEO Yuval Brisker of the campaign. “Like anything that we touch, cash is particularly vulnerable to germ transmission and can be a major contributor to the spread of the virus. Even the simplest exchange of handing over your credit or debit card can contribute to the kind of contact that enables the spread of disease. Alongside our contribution to the CDC, we want to encourage our users to digitally transfer money or use a contactless payment system, to help keep themselves safe, their loved ones and the greater community healthy during this time.”

The Mezu app uses a 4 digit transaction code to enable a private person-to-person payment. With Mezu, users do not have to share their names, phone numbers, email addresses or any other personal information to pay or get paid. In addition, the MezuCard, Mezu’s digital debit card in partnership with Mastercard, allows for contactless payments helping users to avoid unnecessary contact to avoid the spread of germs and curb the spread of Coronavirus.

To join Mezu’s donation effort download Mezu on the App Store or Play Store and go to the CDC Donation Foundation card on the Mezu Home Screen.
