John Fenn and Mark Campbell are brothers-in-law. They are also co-founders of Budget Dumpster, one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S.

The duo founded the company in 2009. Despite being in the waste business, they own no actual trucks or dumpsters. Instead, they serve as brokers—facilitating rentals for companies that already own the equipment, but can’t market themselves in a world where nobody thinks about renting a dumpster, until they actually need one.

To say their strategy has paid off would be an understatement. Since inception, Budget Dumpster has seen double-digit revenue growth every year. They’ve also hired a staff of more than 50 employees and been named the best small company to work for in Northeast Ohio by Cleveland.com.

Fenn and Campbell were among seven finalists for JumpStart’s inaugural Inspiring Scaleup CEO award, which was conceived to highlight the leaders of fast-growing small businesses in Northeast Ohio who are driving economic impact in their community. The award was formally presented on stage at the Capitol Theatre, during our Startup Scaleup 2016 event in Cleveland’s Gordon Square Arts District.
