JumpStart Launches New Resources for Latinx Entrepreneurs

As part of JumpStart’s ongoing efforts to make our work as inclusive and equitable as possible, I’m happy to announce two new resources to help the Latinx community engage with our services and get the help they need to help start, pivot or grow their business.

Bilingual Telephone Office Hours

These office hours work as a “meet-and-greet” hotline where our bilingual business advisors make themselves available to new or existing clients for two hours every Thursday and Friday. Our team is here to listen and give advice, wherever you are in your entrepreneurial journey. Give us a call!

Phone Number: 216-273-0665
Dates/Hours: Thursdays 9:30-11:30am & Fridays 2-4pm

Bilingual Business Assistance Application

We’ve also launched a new online application allowing entrepreneurs to apply for business assistance in Spanish. This application is of critical importance as we work to overcome a few of the linguistic barriers between our services and the Latinx clients we hope to serve.

Click here to visit this application and be sure to reach out to me (or one of our bilingual business advisors) if you need help filling it out!

More Great Community Resources

The Cafecito & Latina Entrepreneurs (CLE) Breakfast Club
In March, we partnered with the Young Latino Network (and several other community organizations) to launch the CLE Breakfast Club. The goal of this initiative is to host a series of events for Latina entrepreneurs to meet for coffee, comunidad and connections. This club now has a great Facebook group with more than 90 members. Be sure to check it out.

Webinars/Educational Resources
In addition to JumpStart’s COVID-19 Webinar Series we’ve also partnered with several other community organizations to bring bilingual webinars to the community. Examples include the Hispanic Business Center’s Business as UNusual Series and the Young Latino Networks recent webinar, Connection and Mental Health for Latinos in a Virtual World.

Stay tuned for more updates on this work. In the meantime, Gracias and hasta pronto!
