JumpStart Market Research Analyst Jaclyn Sommers spends her time helping entrepreneurs in Northeast Ohio gather and analyze good data in order to validate their assumptions about their products, services and target markets.

Recently, we sat down with Jaclyn to ask her five questions about her life and work at JumpStart:

How has JumpStart helped you in your career development?
I’m a very analytical and detail-oriented person by nature, and working with entrepreneurs has really shown me the importance of flexibility and quick decision-making! Also, the passion, drive and adaptability of my coworkers always impresses me. They step outside of their comfort zones and challenge themselves to succeed. They constantly inspire me to do the same.

What is your proudest moment at JumpStart?
I’m just proud to be able to say I work at JumpStart, but one event definitely stands out. I recently presented at a workshop related to market research and the entrepreneurs in attendance stayed for nearly an hour after the session ended to ask questions and get feedback. They were so inspired by our discussion, and that was very rewarding to see.

Which JumpStart value resonates most with you and why?
Entrepreneurial. JumpStart helps entrepreneurs – that’s what we do. So it’s only fitting that we embrace the same mindset as the companies we aim to assist. Just like in any innovative startup, you never know what new opportunities will present themselves from one day to the next. I’ve found I really enjoy working in such an engaging environment.

If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?
I’m a huge Cleveland Indians fan, so I would love to spend one day as an MLB player—just to get that day-in-the-life perspective.

Where is one place you would like to travel to someday?
I’d like to travel to the UK and ride on the London Underground. Public transportation systems fascinate me, and that one in particular would be great to explore.
