The Agile Office

What does Agile Office mean? Starting with the basics: agile in its simplest sense is “quick and well-coordinated in movement; lithe” (Merriam-Webster On-line Dictionary). When applied to office design it can be translated as an office in the state of beta; a space flexible to the users as they push the envelope through their values and expectations. While this is not the typical approach to office design – providing a flexible platform versus providing well defined spaces – it is the next step in the revolutionized office.

It is imperative in today’s fast-paced world to create a space that has the flexibility to complement a company’s culture. Arkinetics’ will lead a discussion in how multi-generations, social styles, technology, and core values influence the office environment. Participants will leave with ideas for their next office environment, but also tips on how to work with various social styles and how to achieve an authentic office.

As the office group leader at Arkinetics, Kendra heads up our office design, designing spaces that complement our client’s corporate culture. Kendra has a knack for getting to know her clients and designing a space that matches their brand and corporate culture. She loves using the language of color and texture while helping clients select furniture, finishes, and fixtures that really work with real budgets. She also loves the problem solving, puzzle-like quality of space planning and how gratifying it is to see space and design come together.
