The expo is a FREE networking and learning opportunity for both job seekers and business owners who are minorities, women, or otherwise socially and economically disadvantaged.

Procurement officials will meet with business owners from more than 45 state agencies, including:

  • Central Ohio Transit Authority
  • Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission
  • The Ohio State University
  • Columbus Regional Airport Authority
  • Ohio Department of Transportation

One of the event cosponsors, the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, will be on-hand to provide details and timelines for their upcoming development opportunity, the Midfield Development Program, a 1.3 billion dollar project that includes a new terminal, parking garage and consolidated car rental facility.

The Ohio Business and Career Expo is also a host location for “The Big Table,” an initiative focused on community building through hour-long conversations coordinated by The Columbus Foundation. Join in the conversation at 3 p.m.

Additionally, employment/workforce recruiting participants include State of Ohio agencies, several state universities, regional transit authorities, and several private construction firms, as well as construction trade unions and apprenticeship programs.

Network with recruiters from nearly 50 organizations; including:

  • The Ohio State University
  • Columbus Regional Airport Authority
  • A variety of State of Ohio agencies
  • DeVry University
  • Associated Builders and Contractors
  • Columbus Sheet Metal Workers
  • The Ohio State Apprenticeship Council
  • And, a number of large prime contractors.

  • How to respond to a state bid request
  • Advantages of joint venturing
  • And, many more.

  • Begin the application process for business certification, recertification or cross-certification
  • Create an online profile at careers.ohio.gov
  • And receive hands-on navigational guidance for procure.ohio.gov.
