Across many sectors, we have heard that employers are having a hard time filling open job opportunities and attracting youth to their specified career fields.  Please join your local manufacturing industry leaders and educators to learn about “growing your own” workforce through work-based learning opportunities, including job shadowing, internships, co-ops, pre-apprenticeships, and apprenticeship programs:

• Hearing about the best practices and established models throughout Ohio and around the country;
• Connecting business and industry partnerships with their educational partners to provide more work-based learning and employment opportunities, along with technical assistance for establishing pre-apprenticeship programs;
• Discussing the barriers and accountability to youth employment;
• Gaining supportive tools, planning templates and guidelines; and
• Helping to establish a state-level industry advisory council to review and establish policy that will enhance programs and provide direction.
