Operation HOPE Cleveland, Forward Cities Cleveland, and JumpStart Inc. will host a panel discussion as a part of Operation HOPE’s nationwide Freedman’s Bank Tour.
Established by President Abraham Lincoln, the Bank was a landmark institution designed to teach former slaves about money. This commemoration is a continued nationwide Tour to complete the Bank’s unfinished mission of helping everyone prosper in the free enterprise system, which like the Freedman’s Bank is an aspiration that should be too important and ‘too big to fail’.
Using examples from Cleveland, Detroit and other cities this panel is designed to share a sense of urgency for the work of inclusive prosperity. This panel discussion will highlight current work, new approaches, and future directions of efforts to build wealth and entrepreneurship in low income urban neighborhoods.
The event will consist of continental breakfast, and networking, followed by a 45 minute moderated discussion with panelist from Cleveland and Detroit.
