Visit Hiram College’s East Hall Forum every Wednesday evening for an hour or two of stimulating conversation with entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial thinkers! If you have ever wondered how businesses or organizations get started, here’s the chance to find out.
Each Wednesday an entrepreneur will tell their story. Some of these entrepreneurs may be well seasoned; some may be just starting out. Hear how they did it, what they did right, what they might do differently and what they might do next!
This week:
Udderly Innovative! with Bill Kennedy, Jr., President, Redex Industries, Inc.
Redex Industries, Inc., a family-owned and operated business in Salem, Ohio, is better known by its flagship product Udder Cream. Originally a Vaseline-based cream used by dairy farmers to treat chapped and cracked cow udders, Bill’s father, a pharmacist, saw an opportunity. Bill, Sr. tinkered with the formula to make it less greasy. Soon farmers were using it on their livestock and the farmers’ wives were using it on their hands. The product took off, is sold in the U.S., Canada and internationally, and is known for its signature black and white spotted labels. Come hear Bill’s story of how his father founded the company and the family is continuing to build it!
