She will discuss her journey from doing major medical research at CWRU to joining a global biopharmaceutical company.

Lacatena joined Merck in 2016. Prior to working at Merck, she co-founded ReXceptor, Inc. to repurpose an oncology medication for Alzheimer’s disease treatment. She was named one of the Forbes 30 under 30 for healthcare in 2012 and 2013 for this work. In 2012, Lacatena earned her PhD in neuroscience from the CWRU School of Medicine.
