Startup Nonprofit Headed to Twin Cities

JumpStart Inc., a nonprofit organization that advises entrepreneurs and helps connect them with sources of financing, is hosting two focus group discussions in the Twin Cities next week as part of a plan to develop a “regional entrepreneurship action plan” for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.

JumpStart is based Cleveland and backed by Ohio’s Third Frontier program. In Ohio, it’s helped tie together disparate business organization into one network, and funded startup companies. MedCity News reported last month that the group is trying to create a “Community Advisors” network here and elsewhere...

Knight Foundation, and the Surdna Foundation have engaged with JumpStart Inc., a nationally recognized non-profit, to develop a Regional Entrepreneurship Action Plan that supports the development of high-growth businesses in the 13-county Minneapolis Saint Paul region...
