Venture Investment in NE Ohio Soars

A greater number of young technology companies in Northeast Ohio received a greater number of investment dollars during 2007, but almost all of the increase went to bioscience companies, according to a report released by three Cleveland economic development organizations.

Seventy-one companies received a total of $318 million in venture capital in 2007, more than doubling the $157 million received in 2006, according to the 2007 Venture Capital Report, released by venture development organization JumpStart Inc., technology advocacy group NorTech and BioEnterprise Corp., which assists health care companies...
