JumpStart Inc., a group that supports business startups, has agreed to invest $400,000 in an Elyria company developing and patenting technologies for use in energy-efficient lighting products. The devices of Wireless Environment LLC, use light emitting diodes — or LEDS — that are more environmentally friendly than incandescent, fluorescent and halogen technologies. They also last longer and use less power. The company, led by David Levine and Michael Recker, plans to use the investment to further develop about a dozen products during the next two years. Wireless Environment currently sells two products: a battery-powered motion-sensing LED spot light and an LED stair light that emits a faint light that brightens with motion. Founded in 2007, Wireless Environment, is JumpStart’s 46th investment in 35 companies.
