The Hudson-based Burton D. Morgan Foundation will give up to $3 million over the next three years to JumpStart Inc., an organization that helps startup companies in Northeast Ohio.
''We are putting our money where our mission is,'' said Deborah Hoover, president of the foundation that promotes the free-enterprise system.
The grant requires matching money, so the overall impact could mean a $6 million boost for JumpStart.
Since its founding in 2004, JumpStart has worked with more than 1,400 entrepreneurs and invested in 32 companies. The grant can be used for investments or operations.
