Cleveland economic development organization JumpStart Inc. has added four new staff members as it prepares to ramp up its investments in new companies.
The new staffers are Laura A. Hummer, director of marketing; Mark K. Smith, executive in residence; and Jerold J. Frantz and Samuel P. Gerace, entrepreneurs in residence. Their hiring brings the total number of JumpStart staffers to 16.
JumpStart made its first investment in June when it provided $50,000 to Stanton Advanced Ceramics LLC of Cleveland, which makes ceramics that can withstand high heat. JumpStart will announce more investments next month, said Thom Ruhe, chief marketing officer for the organization.
