The Hon. David J. Kappos, Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, will headline this year's Richard C. Sughrue Symposium on Intellectual Property Law and Policy at the John S. Knight Center in Akron on March 19.
Director Kappos will speak on the agency's implementation of the America Invents Act, which contains the most significant changes to U.S. patent law since 1836.
In addition to Director Kappos, the program will feature updates on developments in patent, trademark, and copyright law, and panel discussions on the the act's new post-grant and inter partes review procedures and international IP developments.
