Braintree Business Development Center has launched its Tech Sprout Grant Program to move technology ideas to commercialization. Applications for the first funding round are due February 27, 2012.
Tech Sprout grants up to $6,000 to future Braintree tenants and up to $2,000 to qualifying companies in Northeast Ohio's 21 counties to help build a prototype or test a product to help companies prepare for larger funding rounds.
Applicants work with Braintree or affiliates to develop a business model and funding presentation. Select grantees will make their final presentations on March 16, 2012. Grants will be awarded soon afterward. Applications must include detailed requests for specific needs related to product or concept development.
