Projects
Our work supporting ecosystems outside of Ohio was initially funded by a public, private and philanthropic partnership among the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Surdna Foundation, and the U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration. These supporters recognized that the entrepreneurial transformation occurring in Northeast Ohio was needed more broadly across other distressed regions of the Upper Midwest and supported JumpStart to work with other communities. Since that time, our work has expanded to other regions.
Here are the regions with which we are working to accelerate their own entrepreneurial successes:
- Northern Indiana: Northeast (Fort Wayne), Northwest (Gary), and North Central
- Upstate New York: Western, Central, Finger Lakes, and Southern Tier
- Minneapolis Saint Paul, MN
- Akron, OH
- Baton Rouge, LA
- Detroit, MI
- Duluth, MN
We're also in discussions with several other regions interested in this work.
