Phycal LLC is developing an integrated production system for growing algae and producing commercially relevant energy products, primarily algal oil. This oil can be converted to biodiesel, drop-in "green" replacements for diesel and jet fuel, fuel oil blends and other products.
Phycal's strategic approach combines innovative technology and system engineering with a business focus on producing oil at a market competitive price. The company is currently conducting research and development activities in a sub-pilot scale production facility in Ohio, an algae laboratory in St. Louis and a 30+ acre pilot facility capable of producing over 100,000 gallons of oil per year located in Wahiawā, O'ahu, Hawai'i.
