Send Us Your Music RequestsThe team is quite busy these days preparing for what looks to be our biggest Annual Community Meeting to date! (It's October 26th, 3:30 - 6:00pm at the Wolstein Center, in case it's not yet on your calendar; be sure to register. Last year, we listed a preview of the music we were considering for the introduction to the presentation to "set the mood" for this very upbeat and exciting event. This year, we are planning the music again and via this blog, are officially opening the request line for songs you think might be good for our event. What music do you think we should play? Post your ideas in the comments section below. A few criteria for your consideration:

  • Songs need to capture the anticipation of the program and the energy of progress. No slow songs for us! This is about being upbeat and full of energy!
  • It would be great for the songs to be thematically appropriate. If the actual lyrics can have something to do with entrepreneurs (their perserverance and tenacity, their ability to weather the downturns, or their ability to move things forward), that is ideal. No sappy songs about love, please!
  • To make sure the most people are able to enjoy them, songs should be appropriate (watch the language), familiar but also modern, and something with relatively wide appeal.
Now, a little pot sweetener: if one of your recommendations is picked for the pre-meeting soundtrack, you'll receive a special secret JumpStart prize. You will have to be present at the Annual Meeting to win, but don't worry, the event is free!). To further spark your creative juices, here is the blog post of ideas we had last year, and below is the list of songs that we ended up using.
  • Brand New Day: Sting
  • Best of What's Around: Dave Matthews Band
  • Get what you Give: New Radicals
