Richard E. "Duke" Jankura, Jr.
Chief Financial Officer
Duke advises JumpStart management and staff on the proper accounting of all expenditures and the use of grant funding.
A National Development Council certified Economic Development Finance Professional, he also manages the organization’s information technology needs, oversees human resources, benefits and payroll and administers regular operations for the organization. Prior to JumpStart Inc.'s formation in January 2004, Duke was the Sr. Director, Finance and Administration for Enterprise Development Inc. (EDI). Before EDI, he was Manager of Financial Analysis for McDonald Investments Private Client Group and a Controller for Key Investments in Cleveland. He also worked as a Financial Analyst in corporate banking and budget at Society Corporation and as a Marketing Analyst at The Travelers Companies in Hartford.
Duke served as a logistics officer in the United States Marine Corps. He is currently treasurer of the board of the Institute for Creative Leadership and served as the chairperson for the Old Brooklyn/Brooklyn Center Business Revitalization District Review Board until June 2005 and as treasurer on the board of trustees for the Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation from 1999 to 2002.
Duke holds an MBA in Corporate Finance and a BS in Business Administration and Management from the University of Hartford.
