Mike and his team work with regions across the country to help them apply JumpStart's expertise and experience to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in an effort to create vibrant economies that generate new, high growth, globally competitive businesses and high paying jobs.

Mike is an expert in technology commercialization, strategy development, financing and business development. With more than 20 years of experience working directly with entrepreneurial companies as a team member, entrepreneur, investor and board member, Mike brings a practical perspective to the creation of programs to support entrepreneurs and innovation. Before joining JumpStart, Mike founded BizLogx. Through BizLogx, Mike worked with startups and established technology companies to address challenges and opportunities relating to technology commercialization and business development. Mike and BizLogx also advised the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) in connection with the design and evaluation of programs to assist entrepreneurs in their efforts to establish, fund and grow technology-based businesses. Mike helped the ODOD establish and implement a comprehensive metrics system to measure the impact of investments in companies that are not mature enough to attract traditional funding sources. Prior to BizLogx, Mike was a partner in a seed stage venture capital fund and served as an investment banker with Banc One Capital Corporation. He began his career as a corporate finance attorney and then served as the General Counsel of Goal Systems, a publicly-held software company located in Columbus, Ohio.

Mike has a J.D. and a B.A in Science Policy from Duke University and a Masters of Management from the J. L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
